Coming soon to a garden near you

Hi,

I just wanted to say 'Hi' on the first day I am starting my landscaping blog. Each week or so I am going to highlight a different plant or tree species, post images and give tips that I have learned about using or avoiding that species. I hope you enjoy and maybe learn to appreciate a few new species along the way. Please feel free to post comments and questions you may have for me and readers to enjoy. See ya soon!

Dr. G: welcome to the blog-o-sphere! We seem to be cut from the same mold. I'm a Santa Barbara, CA. landscape architect and design instructor at our local adult education program. I feel like a lone voice in the universe discussing design issues while others are taking macro shots of tulips pushing through the soil. If you're interested, stop by my blog and see what I've been up to for the past few years. I'll throw a link on my site to try to bring you a bit of traffic. If you want to stay in touch without using these pesky blog comment boxes, my e-mail address can be found by clicking on my business link (top right) and persuing it to my Contact info.

Again, welcome aboard. Looooove the Pittosporum you featured today. Haven't seen that around here but I'm about to start bugging my local wholesale growers to propagate it.

Cheers

Keep posting! I enjoy your writing. I am always buying plants on impulse and then wondering what to do with them. I have found the biggest issue is WATER-- the more they get the better they grow. How simple is that? But often neglected. We have awful dirt here in San Diego, decomposed granite, that won't hold water, or pure thick clay--
Because I board dogs in my home I have to have non-poisonous plants Too bad, because oleander is easy and pretty to grow. And deadly.

I found you on Blotanical and came over to read your blog. You have a great start with interesting subjects. I especially liked the one on lighting. I was an Interior and Housing Design major and your post brought back memories of my semester in a lighting class.
